Who am I?

I'm a sports writer, world traveler and basketball coach. I'm a three-time cross-country vagabond who stops reverentially at stadiums and arenas, who visits Springfield, Ill., where Lincoln lawyered up and Springfield, Mass., where Erving levitated.

I'm a writer of wrongs, a righter of wrongs, and a conscientious observer of life and people and patterns.

I read to learn and transport. Give me a sunny veranda, a tasty lunch, a copy of Sports Illustrated or a sports biography or a book by Albom or Bradbury or Bragg, and I'm content.
